Nuisance Complaints

Environmental conditions which may be considered a hazard to public health may not always be addressed by mandated or permitted programs. Such conditions may be addressed under local nuisance law regulations. Some examples may include improper storage of garbage, accumulation of animal wastes, rodents, mosquito or insect nuisance conditions.

Investigations are conducted to determine whether a PUBLIC HEALTH nuisance exists. The Auglaize County Health Department concentrates on nuisance conditions that affect the community and the Abatement of nuisances is pursued to properly correct any such conditions. Any concerns regarding living conditions within an individual home that do not reach the level of a public health nuisance can sometimes be addressed by Children's Services or Adult Protective Services.
