School Inspections

The Environmental Division conducts semi-annual inspections of all local schools to protect school children and staff by identifying and eliminating health and safety hazards.  Inspections are performed using the Ohio Department of Health's "Creating Healthy School Environments" guidelines. School buildings and the surrounding grounds (including playgrounds) are all inspected for hazards that could pose a threat to the students and public health. Specialty classrooms such as Art, Science and Vo-Ag are evaluated using these guidelines and recommendations are provided to the superintendents of each school system. Our nursing division also monitors attendance reports on a daily basis and is available to assist the school districts with guidelines on infectious disease care.
