What is Help Me Grow? A FREE program for Ohio’s expectant parents, and children birth to three and their families.
Help Me Grow serves as the Central Intake and Referral Agency for Birth to Three Services in Auglaize County.
Help Me Grow is a voluntary program. This means that families can enter and exit the program at their discretion.
Who is eligible? -Pregnant women -Newborns, infants and toddlers under the age of 3 years and their families.
What does Help Me Grow provide? -Home visitors -Referrals to other services. -Family Support Specialist -Community resources
What is a Home Visitor? - Offers support and info about your child’s health, immunizations, nutrition and development. - With the parents permission, developmental screenings are provided. Further evaluations are provided if there is a suspected delay. -Assists with referrals to other agencies and community resources.
What is a Family Support Specialist? A parent who is available to offer support and assistance to families who are experiencing concerns about their child. |

These steps are not hard and fast rules. · 3 months: Lifts head and pushes on arms when on belly. Smiles at parent’s face and voice. Makes cooing sounds. · 6 months: Passes toys from hand to hand. Shows interest in people and things. Babbles, rolls from back to belly. · 9 months: Plays games such as “bye-bye” and “peek-a-boo”. Works for a toy out of reach. Sits well alone. Says simple sounds like “ma, da, ga, ba”. · 12 months: Walks holding on to furniture. Says 2 or 3 words. Can pick up and eat finger foods. · 1 year to 2 years: walks alone, may say 5 to 10 words, stacks 2 or more blocks. Follows simple directions. Partially feeds self. · 2 years to 3 years: Asks for items by name. Recognizes familiar pictures. Uses 2 or 3 words together. Feeds self. Stands briefly on one foot. |
